Was nun die ... ...'
Short description:
In the preface to the first issue of his work, 'Altjemenische Nachrichten', released in 1906, Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) had announced his intention to publish, 5-6 studies a year on the rich epigraphic material he had collected during his four journeys to Yemen between 1882 and 1894.
Eduard Glaser's objective remained unfulfilled due to the gradual decline in his health, which ultimately resulted in his demise on 7 May 1908.
After Glaser's death, Fritz Hommel (1854-1936), professor of Semitic languages at the University of Munich, and Otto Weber (1877-1928), Assyriologist and director of the 'Vorderasiatisches Museum' (Museum of the Ancient Near East), proceeded to the publication of the remaining manuscript.
