Short description:
In 1887, the British Museum acquired a large collection of South Arabian (mainly Minaean) inscriptions collected by Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) during his second journey to Yemen (April 1885 - February 1886).
The first translation of Ancient South Arabian inscriptions purchased by the British Museum (GL 282, GL 283, GL 284, GL 285, GL, 286, GL 287, GL 288, GL 289, GL 290, GL 291, GL 292, GL 293, GL 294, GL 296, GL 297, GL 298, GL 299, GL 300,GL 301, GL 302, GL 303, GL 305, GL 306, GL 308, GL 309, GL 323, GL 333, GL 334, GL 337, GL 338, GL 339, GL 341, GL 343, GL 344, GL 346) was provided by the French orientalist Hartwig Derenbourg (1844-1908).
