This article contains a review of Eduard Glaser's book 'Skizze der Geschichte und Geographie Arabiens von den ältesten Zeiten bis zum Propheten Muhammad' (vol. II) by Fritz Hommel (1854-1936), professor of Semitic languages at the University of Munich.
Fritz Hommel highlights - the importance of Arabia in biblical references covered by Glaser on 200 pages - the attestation of the existence of Greek colonies (not only in Socotra) - the history of Abyssinia and Arabia in the 3rd and 4th centuries which are covered by Glaser on 100 pages.
