'Lieber Bruder! Euer Collectivbrief vom 1. d.M., geschrieben von dir, Alois, Ernst und Siegfried habe ich längst erhalten und euch seither 3 Photographien geschickt, die Ihr hoffentlich erhalten habt.
... Mit Siegmund habe ich leider noch immer mein Kreuz. An dem ist Malz und Hopfen verloren u. wir dürfen leider nichts Gutes von ihm erwarten. Ich dachte mir, als Doctor wird er anders werden. Leider ging diese Hoffnung nicht in Erfüllung.
Der erste Act nach seiner Promotion war, dass er sich von Alois eine bedeutende Summe hinter meinem Rücken geben liesz. Seither macht er es in Wien genau so wie vordem in Prag. ... Alois soll ihm als in diesen Tagen folgendes schreiben: Eduard hat es satt sich mit dir weiterhin zu beschäftigen. ...
Was mich anbelangt, habe ich viel zu schreiben, um mein Buch fertig zu bringen. Die Steine werden leider nicht so schnell an den Mann gebracht werden können. ... Grüsze mir alle herzlichst Dein treuer Bruder Eduard'
