L. B.! '(abbreviated for: Lieber Bruder! / Dear brother!) Deinen Brief vom 7. d.M. erhalten. An Kaufmann P. in Eger habe ich eine Karte geschickt, um ihn für die freundliche Erinnerung u. die Grüsze, die er duch dich bestellte, zu danken.
Mit M. in Wien bin ich vorläufig fertig. Ich habe leider kein Exemplar der Zeitung mehr, habe aber eines an Herrn Dr. Baerwald geschickt. Borge dir es bei ihm aus! Ich brauche zunächst blos 50 Mark, sagen wir 80 - diese schicke mir möglichst bald.
Der Druck meines Buches schreitet gut vorwärts, es wird aber ... noch einige Monate dauern, bis das Werk fertig ist. Grüsze mir alle auf's Herzlichste! Sonst nichts Neues bei mir. Ich habe wieder einen Antrag wegen der Sammlung bekommen, vielleicht wird etwas daraus - die Nachricht über Siegmund hat mich sehr gefreut.
Hoffentlich belibt es alleweil so! Dein treuer Bruder Eduard' Postscript: 'Zeige meine Briefe auch Karl, da ich zu wenig Zeit habe, nun an jeden extra zu schreiben.'

Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) asks his brother Alois (1853-1931) to contact Dr. Aron Baerwald (1854-1891), rabbi in present-day Žatec, if he wants to access a copy of the newspaper ('Allgemeine Zeitung' ?) containing his latest articles.
He also informs him about the progress of his work 'Skizze der Geschichte und Geographie Arabiens von den ältesten Zeiten bis zum Propheten Muhammad' (vol. 2), which he expects to be completed in the next few months ...
