'Euer Wohlgeboren beehre ich mich in Erwiderung Ihres gesch�tzten Schreibens vom 22. September d.J. mitzutheilen, dass ich das mir �bermittelte Exeplar ihres Werkes 'Die Abessinier in Arabien und Afrika' Ihrem Wunsche ensprechend dem ungenannten Spender einer Ihnen zugekommenen Subvention von 2000 fl ... habe zukommen lassen.
Gleichzeitig bemerke ich, dass die in der Vorrede Ihres Werkes auf pag. IV ausgesprochenen Vermuthungen �ber die Person des vorerw�hnten Spenders vollkommen unzutreffend sind. Empfangen Eure Wohlgeboren den Ausdruck vollkommener Hochachtung Clam (?)'
Short description:
The Ministry of Culture and Education confirms the receipt of Eduard Glaser's work 'Die Abessinier in Arabien und Afrika auf Grund neu entdeckter Inschriften', and assures that the book was handed over to the anonymous benefactor who had enabled Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) to cover part of the costs of his fourth trip to Arabia with a contribution of 2,000 fl.
At the same time, the Ministry notes that the assumptions made by Glaser's in the preface to his work (page IV) about the anonymous benefactor are completely inaccurate.
