'Euer Wohlgeboren beehre ich mich mit Bezug auf Ihr Schreiben von 13. d. Mts. mitzutheilen, daß das von hier aus erwirkte Vesirialschreiben d.dto 25 Dzemazi-ul-ewel 1300 No. 5 an den Vali von Jemen direct von der Pforte expedirt worden ist, und wird derselbe darin aufgefordert sich Ihrer beabsichtigten Reise nicht zu widersetzen, Ihnen vielmehr jedwede Unterstützung angedeihen zu lassen.

The councellor of the Austro-Hungarian Embassy in Constantinople informs Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) that a letter concerning the issuance of a 'fermân' (decree by the Ottoman Sultan) that would allow Glaser to carry out his scientific research in the interior of the Vilayet of Yemen was sent directly from the Sublime Porte to the Vali (on April 3rd, 1883) ...
