'Monsieur le Professeur. Beaucoup de choses à vous dire après un long silence que cela! Avant-tout, vous aurez sans dout dejà recu aujourd'hui par M. Kokothaki 'Le Siècle XIX' avec ... que j'ai recu de la part de votre ami Caprotti, directement de Hodeida. (sic)
Mais il m'a écrit qu'il desiderait beaucoup voir publiées ses notes, mais à la condition de rester en incognito ... ... M. Kokothaki vous aura remis le journal parce que je ne sais pas votre dernier adresse, et j'ai fait de façon de ne le perdre pas. (sic)
J'espère d'être de prochain départ pour l'Egypte où je ne resterai pas, dans le cas, plus de deux semaines. (sic) ... A jamais votre très devoué admirateur Eugène Griffini'
