'Salīh ibn Dakschar aus Yemen von Dr. Glaser mitgebracht. Im Mittelgrund links eine sabäische Inschrift, rechts im Hintergrund Sana'a. Gemalt von Carl Tragau.'
Photograph of a painting by Carl Tragau († 1908), Post Chief officer ('Postoberoffizial') and head of the excavations conducted at Carnuntum/Lower Austria
The painting depicts Ṣāliḥ b. Aḥmad Daḫšar, the servant of Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) in Yemen. He had accompanied Glaser to Europe, being responsible for looking after Glaser's two greyhounds at the International Dog Show in Vienna in 1886. It was created by Carl Tragau in 1886 during Sāliḥ ibn Aḥmed's stay in Vienna.
