Diary 1 contains Glaser's departure from Ṣanʻâ, ethnographical and geographical notes of his fourth journey to Yemen (1892-94). And his transcriptions with notes of the inscriptions GL 1036 - GL 1606. The 106 fols. are mostly written in Gabelsberger shorthand. This diary was transcribed by Adolf Grohmann sine dato. Inserted material: 28 v/29 r: 5 single fols. (by Glaser): Transcription of GL 1083, on verso calculations, GL 1083a = 121; transcription of GL 1083b = 121, GL 1084 = Hal. 259, GL 1085 = Hal. 223, GL 1086, GL 1087 = Hal. 504; transcription of GL 1089 = GL 1660; transcription of GL 1090 = Hal. 243; transcription of GL 1091 = Hal. 257 und GL 1092 = GL 1235. - 36v/37r: postal receipt ('Aufgabeschein'): Vienna, 17th November 1894, sent to Lachmann, Breslau, on verso a transcription of an inscription (by Glaser). - 37v/38r: paper envelope with 16 fols. with transcriptions of inscriptions: ca. 6 x 5 cm: GL 1155 a-b, d-j, m-r, t (missing c, k, l, s) (by Glaser). - 55v/56r: single fol.: 'Die Kopien des Abklatsches 950 (941-1026) stehen auf 2 Blättern die sich vor S. 1. des Tgb. III eingelegt finden. Graz 2.11.[19]27. Augenblicklich im Tagebuch IX!! Zu Seite 56'. - 77v/78r: note (by Glaser). - 118/119r: envelope with letter, written in Arabic, note.
