Short description:
Address by Stanislaus Madeyski (1841-1919), Minister of Culture and Education, to the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I in view of his decision to accept the donation of Samuel Horowitz (1841-1924), the chairman of the Jewish community in Lemberg (present-day Lviv).
Horowitz had acquired the collection of ancient South Arabian antiquities and Arabic manuscripts from Eduard Glaser's fourth trip to Yemen (January 1892 - March 1894) and offered it as a donation to the Ministry of Education.
