The beginning of this letter reads: 'L. Alois! (Dear Alois!) Gestern war ich den ganzen Tag in Tutzing am Starnberger See als Gast des Grafen Landberg-Hallberger, dem auszer seinen Herrschaften in Bayern und Württemberg auch die grosze Brauerei in Tutzing gehört.
Es ist derselbe Graf, der seinerzeit Generalsecretär des Orientalistencongresses in Schweden (Stockholm) war, wo ich mich mit ihm verfeindete. Gestern söhnten wir uns wieder aus. Ich habe natürlich Gelegenheit genommen, so gewissermaszen unabsichtlich zu fragen, woher er denn seine Gerste und seinen Hopfen beziehe.
... Also der Anfang wäre gemacht. Ich konnte aber nicht gleich mit der Thüre ins Haus fallen. Da Landberg mit mir allerlei unternehmen will, so werde ich schon noch Gelegenheit haben, ihm zu sagen, dich als Hopfeneinkäufer u. Gerstenlieferant zu bestellen.

Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) tells his elder brother Alois (1853-1931) about his visit to the brewery in Tutzing/Bavaria and his meeting with the owner Count Carlo Landberg-Hallberger (1848-1924) whose acquaintance he had already made during the 8th International Congress of Orientalists in Stockholm in September 1889....
