The beginning of this letter reads: 'L. Alois!' (abbreviated for: Dear Alois!) 239 eingelaufen. Heute richtete ich an Professor Knoll einen längeren Bericht. Falls er ihn veröffentlicht, verschaffe dir einige Nummern und hebe ihn auf.
Ich reise wahrscheinlich am 6. März. Die 2. Sammlung hier werde ich schwerlich bekommen. Sie gehörte einem meiner San'âner Freunde, der sie einem hiesigen französischen Kaufmann behufs Verkauf überliesz. Dieser scheint die Sammlung verkauft zu haben und will nicht Rede stehen, trotzdem ich ihm meinen Kaufvertrag vorwies. Ich weisz noch nicht, ob ich ihn einfach verklagen oder die Strafanzeige gegen ihn erstatten soll.
Viel wird in keinem Falle herauskommen. Geld habe ich einstweilen genügend, da ich augenblicklich über etwas mehr als 2000 Francs verfüge. Alle herzlich grüszend Eduard'
