Contents:
In his publication 'Im Goldland des Altertums' (The Eldorado of the Ancients) the German explorer Carl Peters (1856-1918) describes his discovery of ancient cities and goldmines in regions along the Zambezi River which he had travelled between 1899 and 1901. He locates the Ophir of the time·of Solomon between the Lower Zambezi and the Limpopo river.
In developing his theory on Punt (chapter 8 - p. 276), Peters partly draws on assertions of Eduard Glaser.
