This publication deals with efforts with regard to the preservation and dissemination of Yemeni manuscripts, in particular of Zaydī theological and legal literature.
In addition to an outline of the history of Zaydism, the authors introduce the reader to the modern research of Zaydism whose exploration was enabled by a collection of manuscripts (consisting mainly of Zaydī works an numerous Muʿtazilite kalām writings) brought together by Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) during his four journeys to Yemen (1882-1894).
