The article deals with the exploration of the Yemeni manuscript tradition and provides information on the provenance of the Yemeni manuscripts held by the 'Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin - Preußischer Kulturbesitz' (Berlin State Library - Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation). It features a picture of the manuscript 'Glaser 101' preserved in the State Library.
A great deal of the Yemeni manuscripts available at the Berlin State Library was acquired from Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) after his first and second journeys to Yemen (1884 and 1886 respectively).
The 'Glaser Collection' encompasses rare
religious, philosophical, legal and historical works
that were preserved by the Zaydī communities in Yemen's northern highlands.
