The author of this obituary highlights Eduard Glaser's contribution to the decipherment of Ancient South Arabian inscriptions alongside Joseph Halévy (1827-1917), Johannes Heinrich Mordtmann (1852-1932), David Heinrich Müller (1846-1912), Joseph (1811-1895) and Hartwig (1844–1908) Derenbourg.
