The present short article provides information on the award of the Medjidie Medal (Order 3rd Class) to Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) by the Ottoman Sultan in recognition of Glaser's contribution to the exploration of the Arabian Peninsula.
The Order of the Medjidie (نشانِ مجیدی ) was instituted in 1851 by Sultan Abdülmecid I. The medal was awarded in five classes, with the First Class being the highest.
