The article refers to Eduard Glaser as one of the first European scholars who collected manuscripts in Yemen and took them to Europe. Further reference is made to Eduard Glaser's four trips to Yemen in 1882-1984, 1885-1986, 1887-1988, and 1892-1994 during which he purchased significant collections.
Glaser sold the manuscripts to the 'Königliche
Bibliothek zu Berlin' in 1884 (23 manuscripts) and in 1887 (242 manuscripts). (p. 55)
The manuscripts which Eduard Glaser had collected during his third and fourth trips were acquired by libraries in London and Vienna.
The article features a picture of the manuscript 'Glaser 51'.
