The present article, which covers Eduard Glaser's discovery of 391 inscriptions in Sabaic, was published in various newspapers: It appeared first in 'Die Neue Freie Presse (06.07.1888), then in the 'Prager Tagblatt' (07.07.1888) and again two weeks later in the 'Bade- und Reisejournal' (20.07.1888).
Luigi Caprotti (1858-1889), an Italian trader based in Ṣanᶜāʾ since 1883, informs in a letter addressed to Manfredo Camperio (1826-1899), President of the Milan African Geographical Society, on Eduard Glasers perilous, but also successful trip to Mārib:
After an attack by Bedouins on April 19th, 1888, the traveller from Prague narrowly escaped death. On April 24th, 1888, the traveller was able to return to Ṣanʿāʾ via Khawlān thanks to extensive security measures.
