This work of Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) contains a large (and polemic) response to the criticism expressed by David Heinrich Müller (1846-1912), Professor of Semitic philology at the University of Vienna, concerning Glaser's reading of several inscriptions (e.g. HAL 187, HAL 535, HAL 474, HAL 353, HAL 192, HAL 462,...), which was published in the first volume of the periodical 'Zeitschrift für die Kunde des Morgenlandes'.
Furthermore, Glaser sets out the process of his applications for grants with the aim of demonstrating that he would have been far better off without Müller's involvement. (pp. 34-40)
