Contents:
Otto Weber (1877–1928), Assyriologist and director of the Vorderasiatisches Museum (Museum of the Ancient Near East) from 1912 to 1928, gives an overview of Eduard Glaser's four journeys to Yemen (Oct. 1882 – March 1884, April 1885 – February 1886, Oct. 1887 – Sept. 1888 and 1892–94) and provides information on the costs and scientific results of those research sojourns.
For his biography of Eduard Glaser (1855-1908), the author largely draws on Adolf Miessler's biographical profile (published in the 'Geographische Rundschau' - 1889) which was reviewed by Glaser himself. (p. 6)
With regard to Eduard Glaser's method of collecting epigraphic material (squeezes), Otto Weber quotes from a letter written by Glaser to the German professor of Semitic languagues Fritz Hommel (1854-1936) on Feb. 25th, 1893.
