This article by, Walter W. Müller, specialist in the field of ancient South Arabia and Semitic epigraphy, contains a book review of
'A vision of Yemen: the travels of a European Orientalist and his native guide: a translation of Hayyim Habshush's travelogue'.
In his review, the author highlights the relationship between the erudite Yewish coppersmith Ḥayyim Ḥabšūš (1839-1899) who had served as a guide to the French scholar and traveller Joseph Halévy (1827-1917), and Eduard Glaser (1855-1908).
According to Prof. Müller it is of particular interest that Eduard Glaser, on his fourth journey to Yemen, asked Ḥabšūš to write the 'Vision of Yemen' and later persuaded him to switch
from Hebrew into Jewish-Arabic, the Arabic vernacular spoken by Jews living in Yemen. (p. 128)
