This article covers Eduard Glaser's arrival in Berlin in the wake of his fourth trip to Yemen (January 1892-March 1894). The author reports that Glaser 'succeeded in identifying the three main dialects of that strange language spoken on the southern coast of the Arabian Peninsula between Hadhramawt and Oman aswell as on the legendary island of Socotra'.
Before his arrival in Berlin, Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) gave a short lecture on the results of his fourth journey to Yemen at the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the 'Geographical Society of Munich' on April 17th, 1894. On this occasion he was also appointed honorary member of the Society...
