This article refers to an essay published by Fritz Hommel, 'one of the highest authorities on the history and the languages of Semitic nations', in the 'Münchner Allgemeine Zeitung' (on October 20th, 1889, --> supplement no. 291).
According to Hommel, 'Dr. Glaser has opened up a new era for Semitic philology'.
The first portion of Glaser's work
'Skizze der Geschichte Arabiens von den ältesten Zeiten bis zum Propheten Muhammad'
was submitted to the VIIIth International Congress of Orientalists as well as to the Academy of Sciences in Berlin.
