This statement by David Heinrich Müller (1846-1912), professor of Semitic philology at the University of Vienna, and some of his colleagues - all participants in an expedition to South Arabia sponsored by the Imperial Academy of Sciences - is a response to an article by Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) published in supplement no. 251 of the 'Münchener Allgemeine Zeitung' dated November 5th, 1898.
The undersigned members of the expedition denounce Glaser's portrayal of Count Landberg as a 'political agent of England' as a 'malicious slander which is likely to harm the interests of the expedition in the worst possible way'.
