The present article covers the VII International Congress of Orientalists which was to take place in Vienna from September 27th, 1886.
After providing information on the previous sessions held in Paris, London, St. Petersburg, Florence, Berlin and Leiden, the author touches upon the preparations of the Organising Committee composed of Alfred von Kremer (1828-1889), Georg Bühler (1837-1898), Joseph von Karabacek (1845-1918), Friedrich Müller (1834-1898), David Heinrich Müller (1846-1912) and Leo Reinisch (1832-1919).
Among the national contributors to the congress, the author also mentions Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) who 'will speak about his epigraphic finds in southern Arabia'. (p. 3914)
