Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) comments on the British expedition to Socotra and Abd al Kuri in 1898-1899, coordinated and led by the Scottish explorer Henry Ogg Forbes (1851-1932).
Based on the discoveries of this expedition, Glasers sees his theory confirmed that the inhabitants of Soqotra were descendants of the Phoenicians. He further supports his theory with the results of excavations carried out by the archaeologist Theodore Bent (1852-1897) in Mashoonaland in 1892.
