The manuscript was collected by Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) during his third visit to Yemen in 1887-88 and purchased from him by the British Museum on 13 July 1889. The Glaser Collection of a total of 328 Arabic manuscripts was part of the 'Oriental Collection' in the British Museum Library which is now the British Library.
