'Sehr geehrter Herr! Als ich Anfang des Jahres die Reorganisation des 'Auslands' vorbereitete, habe ich mir erlaubt, auch Ihnen ein zur Mitarbeiterschaft einladendes Circular zuzusenden.

Short description:
In the spring of 1890, the German physician and ethnologist Karl von den Steinen (1855-1929) became editor of the renowned journal 'Das Ausland'.
It is against this backdrop that he approaches Eduard Glaser (1855-1908) with the suggestion to publish the results of his research in the journal, as Karl von den Steinen 'would like to take credit for giving readers unfamiliar with the study of the history and languages of ancient South Arabia an insight into that discipline'.
